PCOS   ( Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) PCOS ( পিসিওএস)   বর্তমান সময়ে মেয়েদের একটি অত্যন্ত সাধারণ কিন্তু জটিল হরমোনজনিত সমস্যা  যা এখনকার অনেক মহিলা পেশেন্টদের মাঝেই পাওয়া যায়।  তাই নিচে  PCOS /  ওভারিয়ান সিস্ট (Ovarian Cyst)   নিয়ে সহজভাবে কিছু বিষয় তুলে ধরা হলো। PCOS কী? PCOS- এর পূর্ণরূপ হলো Polycystic Ovary Syndrome । এটি প্রজননক্ষম মেয়েদের একটি হরমোনজনিত ভারসাম্যহীনতা। এই সমস্যায় ডিম্বাশয়ে পুরুষ হরমোনের (Androgen) আধিক্য দেখা দেয় এবং ডিম্বাশয়ের চারপাশে ছোট ছোট অনেকগুলো সিস্ট ( তরলপূর্ণ থলি ) তৈরি হতে পারে। এর ফলে নিয়মিত ডিম্বস্ফোটন (Ovulation) হয় না , যা মাসিক অনিয়মিত করে তোলে।  এটি মাসিক চক্র, গর্ভধারণ, ত্বক ও চুলে প্রভাব ফেলে। PCOS কেন হয় ?
